Financial Eligibility
To get Medicaid health insurance, one must have income and assets below certain limits.
ACA - Affordable Care Act in NYS

Disability - Eligibility Pathway for People <65
Those under age 65 who are not eligible under the "MAGI" rules under the Affordable Care Act can qualify if they are determined "disabled." If they do not receive Social Security Disability, they may request that Medicaid determine they are disabled. ALso, people age 65+ must be determined disabled in order to shelter income in a pooled trust or individual SNT.
Home Care
Medicaid is one of the only health insurance programs that covers long-term home care services.
